Use Bird Barriers to Keep Pest Birds Away
When birds like pigeons, seagulls, sparrows and crows become pests it is time to get some bird barriers to keep them away. Birds can cause hundreds of dollars a year in damage to roofs, AC units and building materials. Their droppings can also carry any of over 60 transmittable diseases. This is why it is important to install some sort of bird barrier before the birds become a problem.
Spikes as Bird Barriers
When pigeons and larger birds are landing and roosting on your roof, ledges or parapet walls, bird spikes are the economical, effective and easy way to get rid of the birds.
How Bird Spikes Work:
Bird spikes create an un-even surface that the birds can not land on, so they will move on to a more suitable area. Ideally, bird spikes should be installed over the entire surface that the birds are landing on. Do not give pigeons an inch, because they will take it and land and might decide to use the bird spikes as nesting areas.
Installing Bird Spikes:
Bird spikes are easily installed using glue or screws. It is best to use some sort of construction grade adhesive for a permanent installation.
